Clarion-Goldfield-Dows wrestling wins Glen Brand Dual Tournament

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys wrestling team returned to action on Saturday, as they hosted the Glen Brand Duals at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School. The Cowboys welcomed in AP-GC, Decorah, Earlham, Hampton-Dumont-CAL and West Marshall.

CGD would defeat AP-GC by a score of 68-12, as the Cowboys picked up pinfall wins from Paxton Redenius (113), Linden Phetxoumphone (120), Ryan Hartwig (132), Colin Sesker (144), Mason Warnke (150), Caden Hauenstein (157), Ryland Morgan (165) and Charlie Campbell (175), while Adrian Phetxoumphone (132) won by tech fall, Jamie Steffenson (138) won by decision, while JT Kelso (285) and Cole Wibholm (106) won by forfeit.

The Cowboys followed up with a 49-29 win over Decorah, as CGD received pinfall wins from Paxton Redenius (113), Adrian Phetxoumphone (132), Caleb Seaba (157) and Charlie Campbell (175). Linden Phetxoumphone (126) and Colin Sesker (144) would win by tech fall, Cole Wibholm (106) won by decision and Angel Cortes (120) and JT Kelso (285) won by forfeit.

A 57-19 win over Earlham was next for the Cowboys, as CGD had pinfall wins from Adrian Phetxoumphone (126), Ryan Hartwig (132), Colin Sesker (144), Jaxen Engstrom (150), Ryland Morgan (165) and Charlie Campbell (190). The Cowboys also picked up a decision win from JT Kelso (285), while Cole Wibholm (106) and Linden Phetxoumphone (120) won by forfeit.

In a rematch of a one-point win in NCC action, CGD would down Hampton-Dumont-CAL 40-32. The Cowboys picked up pinfall wins from Linden Phetxoumphone (120), Ryan Hartwig (126), Colin Sesker (144), Charlie Campbell (190) and JT Kelso (285). CGD also picked up a major decision from Paxton Redenius (113) and decisions from Adrian Phetxoumphone (132) and Ryland Morgan (175).

The Cowboys would end the day with a 43-26 win over West Marshall, as CGD picked up pinfall wins from JT Kelso (285), Linden Phetxoumphone (120), Ryan Hartwig (126) and Charlie Campbell (190). The Cowboys picked up a tech fall win from Caleb Seaba (157), a major decision from Adrian Phetxoumphone (132) and Colin Sesker (144), and decisions from Paxton Redenius (113) and Ryland Morgan (175).

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows wrestling returns to action on Tuesday night, as they compete in a quad dual meet at St. Edmond with the Gawls, Forest City and Don Bosco, beginning at 6 PM in Fort Dodge.
