Eagle Grove wrestling goes 2-1 in quad duals at West Hancock

The Eagle Grove Eagles wrestling team returned to action on Thursday night, as they made the drive into Hancock County to compete in a Top of Iowa West quad dual at West Hancock High School in Britt. The Eagles were joined by West Hancock, as well as Garner-Hayfield-Ventura and North Union.

Eagle Grove would hold off Garner-Hayfield-Ventura for a 39-38 win, as the Eagles picked up pinfall wins from Dylan Terwilliger (126), Hunter Waldo-Martinez (132), Jackson Babcock (144), Carter Bjorklund (165) and Jesus Baez (285). Andrew Orozco (113) won by decision, while Jayden Kreitlow (175) won by forfeit.

The Eagles would then defeat North Union by a score of 45-36, winning 5 of 7 bouts with pinfalls from Hunter Waldo-Martinez (126), Cooper Thacker (132) and Carter Bjorklund (165). Hayden Schafer (157) would win by tech fall at 157, while Jayden Kreitlow won by major decision at 175, as Ethan Schreiber (106), Andrew Orozco (113) and Dylan Terwilliger (120) all won by forfeit.

West Hancock would upend Eagle Grove in the final bout of the night by a score of 39-35, as the Eagles picked up pinfall wins from Hunter Waldo-Martinez (126), Jackson Babcock (144) and Hayden Schafer (157). Dylan Terwilliger won by tech fall at 120, while Ethan Schreiber (106) and Jesus Baez (285) won by forfeit.

Eagle Grove wrestling returns to action on Saturday morning, when they compete at the Gary Christiansen Invitational at Winterset High School at 10 AM.
