Webster City girls basketball falls at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, 54-27

The Webster City Lynx girls basketball team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip into Hancock County to take on the Cardinals of Garner-Hayfield-Ventura in non-conference action at GHV High School in Garner. Webster City entered the contest with a record of 0-8.

Webster City’s defense would hang tough through the first quarter, trailing just 11-4 after the frame, but the Garner offense would wake up in the 2nd quarter for a 24-12 halftime lead. The Cardinals offense continued to heat up in the 2nd half, en route to a 54-27 win.

Stats for Webster City were not available on Bound as of Tuesday morning, as junior Bella Schisel finished with 25 points and 7 assists for GHV.

Webster City basketball returns to action on Tuesday night, as they host Clear Lake in North Central Conference action, beginning at 6:15 PM on AM 1570 KZWC and kqradio.com.
