The Roland-Story Norsemen basketball teams returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip north into Hardin County to take on the Cadets of Iowa Falls-Alden in non-conference action at Iowa Falls-Alden High School. Roland-Story’s girls entered at 6-2, while the Norsemen boys entered at 2-5.
Roland-Story’s girls would look to continue their winning ways against a salty IF-A squad and would do so with a 72-28 win. Riley Johnson would be a rebound shy of a triple double, finishing with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 10 steals. Claire Truesdell finished with 14 points, while Kam Lande finished with 10 points and 9 rebounds.
The boys game followed as Roland-Story tried to bounce back from their loss against West Marshall and the offense came ready to play, trailing just 13-12 after the first, but IF-A would manage to open a 33-25 halftime lead. The Cadets continued to keep the Norsemen at arms length in the 2nd half for a 62-50 win.
Luke Thoreson finished with a team-high 19 points and 7 rebounds, while Jake Berggren finished with 8 points and 7 rebounds. Kale Kalous lead IF-A with 24 points on the night.
Roland-Story basketball returns to action on Tuesday night, as they host PCM in Heart of Iowa Conference action at 6 PM.
