South Hamilton basketball loses doubleheader to St. Edmond at Wells Fargo Arena

The South Hamilton Hawks basketball teams returned to action on Thursday night, as they took on the Gaels of Fort Dodge St. Edmond in non-conference action at Wells Fargo Arena in downtown Des Moines. South Hamilton’s girls entered at 2-5, while South Hamilton’s boys entered at 0-7.

The girls game began as a defensive slugfest, with the game tied at 4-4 after the first, and St. Edmond pulling out to a 14-10 lead at halftime. That lead continued to grow for the Gaels as they would pull away for a 35-26 win. Stats were not available on Bound as of Friday morning.

South Hamilton’s boys followed with a tall task against an undefeated St. Edmond team, and the Gaels would jump out to a 20-6 lead after 1, which ballooned to 53-13 at halftime. St. Edmond would keep their foot on the gas in the 2nd half for a 77-20 win. Stats were not available on Bound as of Friday morning.

South Hamilton basketball returns to action on Friday, when they travel to Monroe to take on PCM in Heart of Iowa Conference action at 6 PM.
