Eagle Grove wrestling goes 2-1 in Top of Iowa quad dual at West Fork

The Eagle Grove Eagles wrestling team returned to action on Thursday night, as they made the trip into Franklin County to compete in a Top of Iowa quad dual at West Fork High School in Sheffield. The Eagles were joined by West Fork, as well as Northwood-Kensett and Nashua-Plainfield.

Eagle Grove would lose to a very talented to Nashua-Plainfield team by a score of 76-3, as Hayden Schafer won an 8-7 decision at 157.

The Eagles would follow with a 47-28 win over Northwood Kensett, as Eagle Grove would get pinfall wins from Hayden Schafer (157) and Hunter Waldo-Martinez (132), while Jackson Babcock (138) won by tech fall. Reece Demuth (190), Jesus Baez (285), Ethan Schreiber (106), Andrew Orozco (113), and Dylan Terwilliger (120) won by forfeit.

Eagle Grove ended the night with a 53-18 win over West Fork, as the Eagles picked up a pinfall win from Jackson Babcock (138), a tech fall win by Jesus Baez (285) and a boatload of forfeit wins.

Eagle Grove wrestling returns to action on Saturday, when they travel to Emmetsburg to compete in the Bob Roethler Invitational at Emmetsburg High School.
