Webster City girls wrestling competes at Ames Girl Invitational

The Webster City Lynx girls wrestling team returned to action on Saturday, as they made the trip south into Story County to compete in the Ames Girl Invitational at Ames High School. The Lynx were joined by the host Little Cyclones, as well as Cedar Falls, Centerville, Clear Lake, Columbus Catholic, Davenport Assumption, Grinnell, Johnston, Moravia, Norwalk, Perry, Raccoon River-Northwest, Valley, Western Christian and Winterset.

Webster City would not see a champion on Saturday, but did see a top 3 finisher in Kali Hartnett at 110 lbs, winning her 3rd place match over teammate Haedyn Soesbe with a 2nd period pin, as Soesbe finished 4th for the Lynx. Marlee Thompson was the Lynx’s other placewinner, finishing 5th and winning her 5th place match at 115 lbs with a pin of Clear Lake’s Shaelyn Ulrich.

Webster City girls wrestling returns to action on Tuesday evening when they compete in the Eagle Grove Lady Eagle Invitational at Eagle Grove Elementary School.
