The North Central Conference officially announced on Friday evening that Eagle Grove, Forest City and Garner-Hayfield-Ventura would be joining the conference beginning with the 2026-27 school year.
The league will expand from 8 teams to 12 teams, as Charles City will join the league a year earlier than expected. With the expansion to 12 teams, the NCC will split into divisions as well.
The divisions will be based on a 3-year BEDS average as the “Tradition” division will house the 6 largest schools, while the “Pride” division will house the 6 smallest schools.
Eagle Grove’s return marks a coming home for one of the NCC’s charter members after the Eagles left the conference following the 2013-14 school year.
