The Webster City Lynx wrestling team opened their 2024-25 season on Thursday night, as they made the trip to west central Iowa to take on the Carroll Tigers and Boone Toreadors at Carroll High School in non-conference action.
Webster City started the night with a 60-23 win over Boone, with wins by pinfall from Dawson Bertran, Tristan Mason, Eli Estlund and Brayden Burtnett. Wins by forfeit were given to Gavin Wynkoop, Ridge Berninghaus, Cody Elliott, Maurice Anderson, Ty Bingham and Angel Ramirez.
The Lynx would then fall in a close dual to Carroll by a score of 39-38, as Webster City would get pinfall wins from Dawson Bertran, Tristan Mason, Cody Elliott and Carson Burtnett, while Gavin Wynkoop won by tech fall, Blake Berninghaus won by decision, and Ty Bingham won by forfeit.
Webster City wrestling returns to action on Saturday morning, when they compete in the Andy Davidson Invitational at Dallas Center-Grimes High School at 10 AM.
