Webster City girls fall to (3A) #12 Humboldt at home, 46-37

The Webster City Lynx girls basketball team opened their North Central Conference schedule on Thursday night, as they hosted the Humboldt Wildcats at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 0-2, while Humboldt entered at 1-1 and ranked #12 in Class 3A.

Defenses ruled in the first quarter as Humboldt only led 8-5 after the first quarter. Offenses picked up in the second, but Humboldt grew their lead to a 25-17 margin at halftime. Webster City would not let the get any bigger, but the Lynx offense was unable to makeup the difference as Humboldt held on for a 46-37 win.

Webster City stats were not available as of Friday morning, Ava Fischer led Humboldt with 19 points on Thursday night.

Webster City girls return to action on Friday night, when they host Aplington-Parkersburg in non-conference action at 6:15 PM.
