The Roland-Story Norsemen wrestling team opened their 2024-25 season on Thursday night, as they hosted a tri-dual and welcomed in non-conference foes in the Ballard Bombers and Gilbert Tigers to Roland-Story High School.
Roland-Story opened their night by taking on the Ballard Bombers and it would be a dominant victory for the Bombers, coming away with a 73-3 thrashing of the Norsemen. Konnor Blume picked up the lone Norsemen win with a 6-3 decision over Heston Rhiner at 106 lbs to avoid the shutout.
The Norsemen would bounce back with a 50-26 win over Gilbert, with pinfall victories from Blake Loof, Colin Grunlingh, Chance Georgius, Wes Hansen, Konnor Blume and Noah Healy. Caiden Latch would win by tech fall at 126, while Isaac Hall won a 6-4 decision at 150.
Roland-Story wrestling returns to action on Friday, when they compete in the Cliff Keen Invitational at Independence High School.
