The Eagle Grove Eagles wrestling team opened their 2024-25 season on Thursday night, as they made the trip to Winnebago County to take on the Forest City Indians and Central Springs Panthers in Top of Iowa Conference action at Forest City High School.
Eagle Grove would open with a 48-28 loss to Forest City, Hayden Schafer picking up the lone win by pinfall. Andrew Orozco and Reece Demuth would win by tech fall, while Hunter Waldo-Martinez and Jayden Kreitlow won by simple decision.
The Eagles would lose to Central Springs in their 2nd dual of the night by a score of 44-29, as Andrew Orozco and Cooper Thacker were the only Eagles to win by pinfall at 113 and 138. Hayden Schafer won by tech fall at 157, while Dylan Terwilliger and Jesus Baez won by forfeit.
Eagle Grove wrestling returns to action on Saturday, when they compete at the Gilbert Tiger duals at Gilbert High School at 10 AM.
