The 2024 Volleyball season for the KQRadio area saw outstanding team performances, as well as individual seasons worthy of statewide recognition. Here’s this years area award winners and team selections.
Player of the Year: Brookelyn Jondle, So. (Roland-Story)
- 325 kills, .261 kill efficiency, 19 assists, 27 blocks, 260 digs, 51 aces, 86.7% serve efficiency
After garnering 1st-team all-area recognition as a freshman, Jondle captures our Player of the Year Award after a monstrous sophomore season that saw her play like a one-woman wrecking crew at various points of the season. Jondle led the Norsemen in kills, digs and aces in 2024.
Defensive Player of the Year: Cloe Savitski, Sr. (Webster City)
- 300 digs, 24 aces, 18 assists, 1 kill
Savitski was the leader of a talented backrow for a Webster City team that finished 2nd in the North Central Conference in 2024. Savitski led the Lynx in digs with 300, tallying nearly 4 digs per set.
Coach of the Year: Molly Geise (Roland-Story)
- 30-5 record, Heart of Iowa Conference Champions, #13 ranking in Class 3A
Geise captures Coach of the Year honors for the 2nd year in a row, as the Norsemen captured their first conference title since 2021 with a perfect Heart of Iowa slate, while winning 30 games and holding a win percentage of .857 on the year.
All-Area First-Team
Outside Hitter: Brookelyn Jondle, So. (Roland-Story)

Middle Hitter: Kamryn Lande, Sr. (Roland-Story)
- 265 kills, .425 kill efficiency, 37 assists, 52 blocks, 175 digs, 33 aces, 92.8% kill efficiency
Lande’s athleticism in the middle made her a two-way monster at times throughout her senior campaign for Roland-Story. Her .425 kill efficiency mark ranked #12 in Iowa all-classes, while her 265 kills was 2nd on the team, and her 52 blocks was tops for the Norsemen.
Right Side Attacker: Olivia Gallentine, Sr. (Webster City)
- 212 kills, .194 kill efficiency, 315 assists, 12 blocks, 144 digs, 23 aces, 90.1% serve efficiency
Gallentine stepped into the hybrid rightside/setter role that Delainey Bargfrede occupied a season ago and the level of play did not drop at all for the Lynx. Gallentine’s 212 kills were 2nd on the team, while her 315 assists were #1 on the squad.
Outside Hitter: Marissa Hedeen, Sr. (Webster City)
- 236 kills, .235 kill efficiency, 1 assist, 33 blocks, 83 digs, 31 aces, 91.7% serve efficiency
Hedeen built on a breakout junior season and became one of the best hitters in the North Central Conference. Hedeen led the Lynx with 236 kills and a team-best .235 kill efficiency. Her senior season was highlighted by a tying a single-game school-record with 30 kills against St. Edmond.
Libero: Cloe Savitski, Sr. (Webster City)

Setter: Miley Geise, So. (Roland-Story)
- 789 assists, 81 kills, .379 kill efficiency, 15 blocks, 184 digs, 50 aces, 91.6% serve efficiency
Geise garners 1st-team setter honors for the 2nd year in a row, finishing in the top 10 in Class 3A for assists (789), while also finishing 2nd on the team in aces with 50. Geise was also an effective attacker, with a kill efficiency just under .380.
Utility: Indy Johnson, Sr. (Clarion-Goldfield-Dows)
- 30 kills, .060 kill efficiency, 98 assists, 427 digs, 27 aces, 92.6% serve efficiency
Johnson started the season as a back-row attacker, but moved back to libero mid-season. Johnson still managed to lead the NCC in digs with 427 and provided winning opportunities for the Cowgirls despite a tough season.
