The Webster City Lynx girls basketball team opened their 2024-25 season on Friday night, as they made the short trip south into Boone County to take on the Boone Toreadors at Boone High School in non-conference action.
Boone took control from the outset, putting up 4 three-pointers in the first quarter to take an 18-5 lead. From there, Webster City’s defense picked up the pace and keep the Toreadors offense in check, holding Boone to just 24 points the remainder of the game. However, Webster City was unable to generate enough offense to close the margin in a 42-29 loss.
Tristyn Wright finished with a team-high 11 points for Webster City, while Marissa Hedeen finished with 8 points. Sydney Adams led Boone with 14 points.
Webster City girls return to action on Tuesday night, when they host Carroll in their home-opener at Webster City High School at 7:30 PM.
