The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls basketball program will not field a varsity basketball team in 2024-25, a source close to the program confirmed to KQWC Radio earlier this afternoon.
CGD will try and field a JV squad for the 2024-25 season, but low numbers are cited as the reason for no varsity squad in 2024-25. The Cowgirls, who have a BEDS enrollment of 229 and compete in Class 3A, were coming off a 3-18 record in 2023-24.
In addition, Ryan Nail is the new head coach of CGD girls basketball, replacing Liz Ennis after a 3-season return as head coach of the Cowgirls.
