Clarion-Goldfield-Dows volleyball season ends in Forest City, 3-0

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the trip north on Highway 69 to take on the Forest City Indians in their Class 3A, Region 2 first round matchup at Forest City High School. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows entered at 5-24, while Forest City entered at 19-9.

Forest City would keep CGD at arms length all night long, as the Indians opened things with a 25-15 win in set 1. The Indians would then strengthen their grip on the match with a 25-13 win in set 2, before coming away with a 25-16 win in set 3 to complete the 3-0 sweep.

Elliot Ennis finished with a team-high 8 kills and 2 blocks, while Blaire Askelsen finished with 4 kills. Harper Nerlien finished with 17 assists and 2 aces, as Hayden Brown led Forest City with 10 kills and a block.

Forest City advances to face Humboldt on Thursday night as Forest City High School on Thursday night. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows volleyball season ends with a record of 5-25.
