The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Thursday night, as they hosted the Cowgirls of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School for senior night. Webster City entered at 13-10 and 5-1 in conference play, while CGD entered at 5-23 and 1-5 in league play.
Webster City would control the match all night long, opening things with a 25-15 win in set 1. The Lynx then duplicated this result in set 2 with another 25-15 win, before closing things out with a 25-13 win in set 3 to clinch a 3-0 sweep.
The KQWC Player of the Game for Webster City was senior Marissa Hedeen, who finished with 7 kills, 3 blocks and 2 aces on the night. Olivia Gallentine had a team-high 9 kills, 14 assists and 3 aces, while Tristyn Wright had 4 kills and 12 assists.
The KQWC Player of the Game for Clarion-Goldfield-Dows was senior Elliot Ennis, who finished with 5 kills and 2 blocks.
Webster City volleyball returns to action on Saturday when they compete in the Winterset Tournament, while Clarion-Goldfield-Dows volleyball returns to action on Tuesday, when they play their 3A Regional First Round game at Forest City.
