Webster City volleyball falls in 5-set non-con match with Fort Dodge, 3-2

The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the short trip west on old Highway 20 to take on the Fort Dodge Dodgers in non-conference action at Fort Dodge Senior High School. Webster City entered at 13-9, while Fort Dodge entered at 7-18.

Fort Dodge came out of the gates hot on Tuesday night, taking down Webster City by double figures in the opening set by a score of 25-14. Webster City rallied in the 2nd set, leading late 24-21, but the Dodgers ripped off a 5-0 run to steal the set 26-24 and go up 2-0. Webster City would not falter from the 2nd set stunner, reeling off back-to-back wins by scores of 25-19 and 25-17 to make it 2-2 and send the match to a winner-take-all 5th set. In that 5th set, it was Fort Dodge that got the final push for a 15-12 win, and a 3-2 victory.

Stats were not available as of Wednesday morning, Webster City volleyball returns to action on Thursday, when they Lynx host Clarion-Goldfield-Dows in their NCC finale at 7:30 PM.
