Clarion-Goldfield-Dows volleyball falls in 5-setter to Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, 3-2

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they welcomed in the Cardinals of Garner-Hayfield-Ventura in non-conference action at CGD High School in Clarion. CGD entered with a record of 5-22, while GHV entered at 12-13.

CGD got off to a good start to Tuesday night, holding off the Cardinals for a 25-17 win in the opener. GHV responded, dominating the 2nd set for double-digit, 25-14 victory to tie things at 1-1. GHV followed this up with a closer win in set 3, holding on by a score of 25-19, before CGD tied things in set 4 with a 25-17 win to send the match to a winner-take-all 5th set. In that 5th set, it was GHV that would be 2 better than CGD, holding on for a 15-13 win and a 3-2 victory.

Stats were not available on Bound as of Wednesday morning, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows volleyball returns to action on Thursday night, when they travel to Webster City to take on the Lynx in their NCC finale at 7:30 PM.
