The Roland-Story Norsemen volleyball team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the drive to Jefferson to take on the Greene County Rams in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Greene County High School. Roland-Story entered at 24-4 and ranked #13 in Class 3A, while Greene County entered at 11-12.
Roland-Story got out of the gates quickly on Monday, jumping all over the Rams with a 25-12 set 1 win. The Norsemen continued to strengthen their grip on the match with a 25-10 win in set 2, but Greene County fought back in set 3, but Roland-Story proved to be too much in capturing a 25-18 win in set 3 and a 3-0 sweep.
Monday’s win capture Roland-Story’s first outright conference title since 2021 as the Norsemen improved to 25-4 and finished the conference slate at 8-0. Brookelyn Jondle put together a stout night, tallying a game-high 15 kills along with 3 aces, while Kam Lande and Alli Janes accrued 9 kills each. Caitlyn Flattebo finished with 6 kills and 4 aces, while Miley Geise finished with 2 kills and 39 assists.
Roland-Story volleyball returns to action on Saturday, when they compete at the Knoxville tournament before postseason play opens on October 22nd.
