The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls volleyball team returned to action on Thursday night, as they hosted the Algona Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at CGD High School. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows entered at 5-21, while Algona entered at 12-8.
Algona would jump out to a lead midway through set 1, holding off the Cowgirls late for a 25-16 win, before the Bulldogs took set 2 by a 25-14 margin. Algona would save their best for last, dominating CGD in set 3 by a 25-12 final and completing a 3-0 sweep.
Elliot Ennis had a team-high 5 kills on Thursday, as well as 2 blocks. Kennedy Jackson finished with 4 kills, while Harper Nerlien finished with a kill and 14 assists.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows volleyball returns to action on Tuesday, when they host Garner-Hayfield-Ventura in non-conference action at 7:30 PM.
