The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip to Humboldt County to take on the Humboldt Wildcats in North Central Conference action at Humboldt High School. Webster City entered at 13-8 and 5-0 in the conference, while Humboldt entered at 15-8 and 5-0 in the conference.
Set 1 would be an absolute thriller, as Webster City rallied late in the set to come away with a 27-25 win. Set 2 would be just as enthralling, as Webster City trailed 21-10, before coming all the way back to hold a 25-24 lead. However, Humboldt bounced back and took the 2nd set 28-26. Set 3 saw Humboldt control throughout with a 25-15 win, before the Wildcats held off Webster City late for a 25-22 win and a 3-1 victory.
The KQWC Player of the Game was Webster City senior outside hitter Marissa Hedeen, who finished with a game-high 19 kills, with 3 aces and a block. Olivia Gallentine would finish with 8 kills, 20 assists and 3 blocks.
Webster City volleyball returns to action next Tuesday, when they travel to Fort Dodge to take on the Fort Dodge Dodgers in non-conference action at 7:30 PM.
