The Roland-Story Norsemen volleyball team returned to action on Monday night, as they hosted the PCM Mustangs in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Roland-Story High School in Story City. Roland-Story entered at 20-2 and ranked #13 in Class 3A, while PCM entered at 12-9.
Roland-Story would hold off PCM in the opening set by a score of 25-18. The Norsemen would control the 2nd set as well, pulling away for a 25-16 victory. Set 3 would be a battle however, as PCM would not go quietly, but Roland-Story would pull it out in extra rallies by a score of 26-24 as the Norsemen wrapped up at least a share of the Heart of Iowa Conference title.
Sophomore Brookelyn Jondle would have a monster night, tallying 19 kills, a block and an ace. Senior Kam Lande finished with 14 kills, 1 block and an ace, while sophomore setter Miley Geise finished with 4 kills, 37 assists and 3 aces, as she surpassed the 100 career ace mark in the win.
Roland-Story volleyball returns to action on Thursday night, when they travel to Gilbert to take on Gilbert and North Polk in a tri-dual match beginning at 5 PM.
