The Eagle Grove Eagles volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they hosted the North Union Warriors in Top of Iowa West action at Eagle Grove Elementary School. Eagle Grove entered at 2-13, while North Union entered at 4-11.
Eagle Grove got off to a great start against the Warriors, pulling away late in set 1 for a 25-21 win, before dominating North Union in the 2nd set 25-12. However, the Warriors flipped the script in the 3rd set, dominating Eagle Grove for a 25-13 victory, before tying the set with a 25-17 win in set 4, to send the match to a winner-take-all 5th set. Eagle Grove would rally in the 5th set, keeping the Warriors at arms length to clinch a 15-10 win and the Eagles first win over North Union since joining the Top of Iowa in 2014.
Stats were not available on Bound as of Wednesday morning, Eagle Grove volleyball returns to action on Monday, when they travel to Buffalo Center to take on North Iowa at 7 PM.
