The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Thursday night, as they welcomed in the Bulldogs of Hampton-Dumont-CAL in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered with a record of 7-4, while Hampton-Dumont-CAL entered at 7-3.
Set 1 would be tight throughout, with HD-CAL holding a lead at the halfway point, but the Lynx rallied for a 25-17, set 1 win. This was followed up by an even tighter 2nd set, one that went into extra rallies before Webster City emerged victorious in a 26-24 win to go up 2-0. The Lynx would then put the finishing touches on the match with a 25-20 win in set 3 to cap the 3-0 sweep.
Senior Olivia Gallentine put up another prolific night, putting up 13 kills and 15 assists, while Marissa Hedeen added 11 more kills and 3 aces, as Tristyn Wright had a team-high 16 assists. Aubryee Showalter led HD-CAL with 9 kills on the night.
Webster City volleyball returns to action on Saturday, when they compete in the Forest City Tournament beginning at 9 AM at Forest City High School.
