Eagle Grove, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows cross country compete in Clear Lake Invite

The Eagle Grove Eagles and CGD-BK Broncos cross country team returned to action on Thursday night, as they competed in the Clear Lake Invitational at Veterans Memorial Golf Course in Clear Lake. The Eagles and Broncos were joined by the host Lions, as well as Ames, Central Springs, Clarksville, Clear Lake Classical, Forest City, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Humboldt, Newman Catholic, North Butler, Northwood-Kensett, Saint Ansgar, West Fork and West Hancock.

CGD-BK would place 10th in the boys race with 267 points, as Christopher Greenfield was the top placer, finishing 28th in a time of 19:19.7. Tate Jackson was 43rd in 20:01.5, Nolan Muhlenbruch was 59th in 20:58.7, Ethan Vestweber-Boots was 77th in 22:43.2, while Logan Torsell was 80th in 23:09.5.

Eagle Grove placed 11th with 281 points, as the Eagles top placer was Felix Reyes, who finished 44th in 20:04.3. Hunter Waldo-Martinez was 48th in 20:14.9, Dylan Beck was 66th in 22:11.7, Felix Gonzalez was 69th in 22:14.3, while Asarel Castro rounded out scoring in 70th in 22:16.7.

The CGD-BK girls would place 11th in their meet with 249 points. Lila Swenson was the Broncos top placer, finishing 30th in a time of 24:26.1. Avery Boshart was 40th in 25:11.1, Lillyann Aguilera was 51st in 25:53.8, Johanna Perez was 65th in 29:35, while Sophia Dahlgren rounded out scoring at 74th in 34:34.3.

Eagle Grove’s girls would finish 12th with 279 points, as Myka Anderson was the top placer, placing 34th in a time of 24:49.2. Maria Perez was 61st in 27:28.3, Elizabeth Lopez was 63rd in 28:14.4, Gabriela Lobato was 66th in 30:10.4, while Baylee Steig rounded out scoring in 69th with a time of 31:30.5.

Eagle Grove cross country returns to action on Monday, when they compete in the Humboldt Invitational at Joe Sheldon Park in Humboldt. CGD-BK returns to action on Tuesday, when they travel to Mason City to compete in the Riverhawk Invite.
