The Roland-Story Norsemen volleyball team returned to action on Monday night, as they hosted the Thunder of Grand View Christian in Heart of Iowa Conference action at Roland-Story High School in Story City. Roland-Story entered at 7-1, while Grand View Christian entered at 3-7.
Grand View Christian would prey off of Norsemen mistakes early and lead throughout the first half of set 1, before Roland-Story got on track late in the frame to capture a 25-22 win. Roland-Story would build off the end of set 1 and fire on all cylinders for 25-13 win in set 2 of the match. Grand View Christian would not go quietly putting up a fight in set 3, but the Norsemen used another late run to capture the 25-18 win and 3-0 victory over the Thunder.
Brookelyn Jondle was the KQWC Player of the Game, putting in a monster performance of 16 kills, 2 aces and 3 blocks on Monday night. Senior Kam Lande added 7 kills, 2 aces and 5 blocks on Monday, Maia Murphy led Grand View Christian with 7 kills.
Roland-Story volleyball returns to action next Thursday, when they travel to Nevada to take on the Cubs in a pivotal Heart of Iowa Conference match at 6:30 PM at Nevada High School.
