The Eagle Grove Eagles volleyball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the trip north into Hancock County to take on the Eagles of West Hancock in Top of Iowa West action at West Hancock High School in Britt. Eagle Grove entered at 0-5, while West Hancock entered at 0-4.
The first set would be back-and-forth throughout, but it was Eagle Grove that strung together a late rally to capture a 25-20 win. Set 2 would look like much of the same, as Eagle Grove again used a late rally to capture a 25-22 win to go up 2-0. West Hancock would rebound in set 3 with a score of 25-22 to make it 2-1, but Eagle Grove took control early in set 4 and wouldn’t look back in a 25-18 win and 3-1 victory over West Hancock.
Stats were not available on Bound as of Wednesday morning, Eagle Grove volleyball returns to action on Thursday when they host TOIW-rivals Belmond-Klemme at 7 PM at Eagle Grove Elementary.
