Webster City volleyball splits matches at St. Edmond Tournament on Saturday

The Webster City Lynx volleyball team returned to action on Saturday, as they made the short trip west on old Highway 20 to St. Edmond Catholic School for the annual St. Edmond Tournament. Webster City was joined by the Gaels, Southeast Valley, Bishop Garrigan and (2A) #8 Aplington-Parkersburg.

Webster City started their day with their rivals from the NCC in St. Edmond, and the Gaels upended the Lynx to start the day by a margin of 2-0 (15-21, 11-21). Webster City bounced back by sweeping Southeast Valley 2-0 (21-18, 21-17), before sweeping Bishop Garrigan by a 2-0 margin (21-15, 22-20). The Lynx would end the day with the 8th-ranked Falcons, and fall by a final of 2-0 (11-21, 16-21) to finish the day with a 2-2 record.

Stats were not available on Bound as of Tuesday morning, Webster City volleyball returns to action on Thursday night, when they host Algona in their NCC opener at 7:30 PM.
