The Eagle Grove Eagles volleyball team opened their 2024 season on Tuesday night, as they welcomed in the Southeast Valley Jaguars in non-conference action at Eagle Grove Elementary School.
Southeast Valley began the night with a win in set 1 by a margin of 25-12, but Eagle Grove would answer right back, leading for a majority of the 2nd set before closing a 26-24 win to tie the match at 1-1. The Jaguars regained control in the 3rd, cruising to a 25-13 win, before Eagle Grove battled hard in set 4, but it was Southeast Valley that pulled away late for a 25-18 win, and 3-1 match victory.
Addy Jeske was the Player of the Game for Eagle Grove, tallying 6 kills and 3 blocks on Tuesday night, while Tarissa Middleton and Myah Edwards each tallied 5 kills. Riley Carlson tallied a game-high 12 kills for Southeast Valley.
Eagle Grove volleyball returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Forest City to take on the Indians in their Top of Iowa West opener at 7 PM.
