The Webster City Lynx, Roland-Story Norsemen and South Hamilton Hawks volleyball teams opened their 2024 seasons on Monday night at Roland-Story High School in Story City. The 3 welcomed in Central Springs to round out the quad match.
Webster City and Roland-Story opened with one another, as Roland-Story would take care of the Lynx by scores of 25-12 and 25-15 for a 2-0 win in the best of 3. South Hamilton would open with Central Springs, only dropping the first set by a score of 25-18, before the Panthers blew it wide open in set 2 by a score of 25-4 for a 2-0 win.
Round 2 saw Webster City take on South Hamilton, as the Lynx took care of business against the Hawks, winning 2-0 in sets of 25-12 and 25-14. Roland-Story would take on Central Springs, as the Norsemen kept the Panthers at arms reach for a 2-0 win in sets of 25-19 and 25-20.
The final round saw Roland-Story and South Hamilton take on one another, as the Norsemen quickly took care of business with a 2-0 win with sets of 25-7 and 25-5. Webster City would be in a battle with Central Springs, eventually falling 2-0 by sets of 22-25 and 26-28.
Roland-Story starts their year with a record of 3-0, Webster City started with a record of 1-2, while South Hamilton started at 0-3. The Norsemen return to action next Tuesday, when they compete in Carroll Kuemper tournament. South Hamilton returns to action on Thursday when they host (2A) #5 South Hardin, while Webster City returns to action on Thursday when they host Boone in their home-opener at 7 PM on 95.7 KQWC.
