The Webster City Lynx and Roland-Story Norsemen baseball teams returned to action on Friday night, as they faced one another in non-conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 16-12, while Roland-Story entered at 14-16.
Roland-Story started off on the right foot, driving in a run on a Colin Willis RBI groundout to go up 1-0. From there, Webster City would ransack the Norsemen, putting up 7 runs in the 1st to take a 7-1 lead. From there, Webster City put up 6 runs in the 3rd and 3 more runs in the 4th to end the game with a 16-1 win.
Jaxon Griffith had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with 4 RBI, while Matt Tesdahl went 1-for-3 with 3 RBI and a double. Braylon Dyvig went 1-for-2 with a single and 3 RBI, while Josh Griep pitched all 4 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits and 4 strikeouts. Colin Willis went 0-for-2 with an RBI, while Sam Knoll was 2-for-2 with 2 singles. Cael Faber was charged with the loss, allowing 7 runs on 6 hits with 1 strikeout in a 1/3 of an inning.

Roland-Story baseball returns to action on Tuesday, when they host Clarion-Goldfield-Dows in Class 2A, Substate 2 Quarterfinal action at 7 PM on 95.7 KQWC or online at kqradio.com.
