Webster City baseball falls on the road to Fort Dodge, 2-1

The Webster City Lynx baseball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the trip west on Highway 20 to take on the Fort Dodge Dodgers in non-conference action at Harlan Rogers Sports Complex. Webster City entered at 15-11, while Fort Dodge entered at 17-19.

Webster City struck 1st in the top of the 1st with a Briar Klaver RBI single to take an initial 1-0 lead. That lead would hold until the bottom of the 4th, when Fort Dodge put up 2 runs off a Jaxson Dencklau RBI single and a wild pitch to take a 2-1 lead. Webster City was unable to generate the offense to answer as Fort Dodge held on for a 2-1 win.

Briar Klaver would go 1-for-3 with an RBI, while Keegan Hisler was 1-for-3 with a double. Alex Staley was charged with the loss despite pitching well, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits and struck out 6 batters.
