The Iowa State Patrol investigated a one car accident in Loomis Park in Fort Dodge at 11:00 Tuesday night that claimed the life of a Fort Dodge motorist and injured two passengers. Reportedly a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu operated by 16-year-old Leah C. Lynch of Fort Dodge was traveling through Loomis Park when she lost control of the car and struck a treee. Lynch was pronounced dead at the accident scene. A passenger, 16-year-old Amyrra M. Lumsden of Fort Dodge was transported by Life Flight to MercyOne in Des Moines for treatment of her injuries. Another passenger, 16-year-old Jessie Leyja of Fort Dodge was treated at the scene and released. The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. Assisting in the investigation are Fort Dodge Police,Webster County Sheriff’s Department and the Fort Dodge Fire and EMS.
