Roland-Story softball falls to South Hardin, 9-2

The Roland-Story Norsemen softball team returned to action on Thursday night, as they hosted the South Hardin Tigers in non-conference action at the Hennessey Diamonds in Roland. Roland-Story entered at 7-19, while South Hardin entered at 14-11.

South Hardin wasted no time in getting on the board, putting up 2 runs in the top of the first, but Roland-Story responded with a run of their own in the bottom of the frame to make it 2-1. The next 3 innings would go scoreless before the South Hardin bats came to life with 3 runs in the 5th and 2 runs in the 6th to put the Tigers up 7-1. Roland-Story got a run back in the 6th, but South Hardin put 2 more runs in the 7th to punctuate their 9-2 win.

Peyton Jeter would go 2-for-3 with an RBI and a double, while Eva Corcoran went 1-for-3 with a double. Miley Geise would go 1-for-2 with an RBI, while also pitching 4 innings and allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits and striking out 2.

Roland-Story softball returns to action on Monday, when they host Webster City in non-conference action at the Hennessey Diamonds at 7:30 PM and can be heard on 95.7 KQWC or online at kqradio.com
