The Eagle Grove Eagles and Webster City Lynx softball teams returned to action on Thursday night, as the two former conference rivals faced off with one another in non-conference action at Webster City High School. Eagle Grove entered at 13-6, while Webster City entered at 14-8.

Webster City would start the game hot, as leadoff hitter Addy Tesdahl deposited her first pitch beyond the right field wall for a leadoff home run and to put the Lynx ahead 1-0. Webster City added 2 more runs in the frame to take a 2-0 lead after the first, but Celeste Figueroa kicked off the top of the 2nd with a solo home run of her own to make it 3-1. Eagle Grove then mounted a furious rally with 5 more runs in the 2nd, and a run in the 3rd to make it 7-3.
