South Hamilton baseball downs PCM, 8-2

The South Hamilton Hawks baseball team returned to action on  Monday night, as they made the trip into Jasper County to take on the PCM Mustangs in Heart of Iowa Conference action at PCM Middle School in Prairie City. South Hamilton entered at 7-10, while PCM entered at 8-11.

South Hamilton wasted little time in flipping the script from their first meeting, putting up 2 runs in the 1st to take a 2-0 lead. After scoreless frames in the 2nd and 3rd, South Hamilton put up 4 runs in the top of the 4th to make it 6-0. PCM answered with a run in the bottom of the frame, only to be rebuked by 2 more South Hamilton runs in the 5th to make it 8-1. PCM got another run in the 5th to make it 8-2, but Hawk starter Landon Sogard would shut the Mustangs down in the last 2 innings for an 8-2 win.

Landon Greufe would go 2-for-4 with an RBI and a double, while Owen Duns was 1-for-4 with a 2 run RBI double. Tjerdan Johnson was also 2-for-3 with an RBI and double, while Landon Sogard pitched the complete game allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and striking out 8.
