The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows baseball team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the short trip west on Highway 3 to take on the Humboldt Wildcats in North Central Conference action at Humboldt High School. CGD entered with a record of 7-14, while Humboldt entered at 12-6.
Humboldt would ambush the Cowboys on Monday night, putting up 5 runs in the first, followed by 8 more runs in the 2nd to take a 13-0 lead. Humboldt would put up 2 more runs in the 4th to end the game early with a 15-0 final.
Carson Nesheim would record the only CGD hit on the night, going 1-for-2. Wyatt Decoster was charged with the loss, allowing 8 runs (5 earned) on 5 hits and did not strike out a batter.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows returns to action on Tuesday, when they host Garner-Hayfield-Ventura in non-conference action at CGD High School at 7:30 PM.
