The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Thursday night, as they welcomed in the Indians of Pocahontas Area in non-conference action at Greenwood Park. Eagle Grove entered with a record of 11-4, while Pocahontas Area entered at 11-6.
Both sides would trade a run in the 1st inning, with the score sitting at 1-1 for the next 4 innings following. Pocahontas Area finally broke the tie in the 6th with 2 runs in the frame to take a 3-1 lead. The Indians added another run in the 7th to make it 4-1, as Eagle Grove attempted to mount a comeback, but only managed one run in the 7th as Pocahontas held on for a 4-2 win.
Eagle Grove stats were not available on Bound as of Friday morning. The Eagles return to action on Saturday, when they compete in the St. Edmond Tournament at Harlan Rogers Sports Complex.
