The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they hosted the Bulldogs of Lake Mills in Top of Iowa West action at Greenwood Park in Eagle Grove. Eagle Grove entered at 10-4, while Lake Mills entered at 4-10.
Eagle Grove would find early offensive consistency, putting up a run in each of the first two innings to go up 2-0, before doubling their lead to 4-0 in the top of the 3rd. Lake Mills, would put up a run in the 3rd to make it 4-1, but Eagle Grove took control from there, putting up a run in the 4th and 5th, before a 4-run 6th to help seal a 10-1 victory.
Maddie Kaiser would go 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and 4 RBI, while Addy Jeske went 3-for-4 with an RBI and 3 runs scored. Brooklyn Osborn went 1-for-2 with a 2-run RBI double, while also pitching a complete game, allowing 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 6.
Eagle Grove softball returns to action on Thursday, when they host Pocahontas Area at Greenwood Park, beginning at 6 PM.
