Eagle Grove baseball shutout by Lake Mills, 7-0

The Eagle Grove Eagles baseball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they hosted the Lake Mills Bulldogs in Top of Iowa West action at Greenwood Park in Eagle Grove. Eagle Grove entered with a record of 9-8, while Lake Mills entered at 10-6.

The game would be a pitchers duel for the first 4 innings between Syrus Willard and Kane Koch, but Lake Mills would get 4 unearned runs on the board in the 5th to make it 4-0. The Bulldogs would follow with a run in the 6th and 2 runs in the 7th to cap a 7-0 win.

Eagle Grove would commit 6 errors in the game, as Jake Jeske went 3-for-4 with a double on the night. Syrus Willard was charged with the loss, allowing 4 unearned runs on 1 hit and striking out 5 batters in 4.2 innings.
