The Webster City Lynx and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows softball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as the two faced off with one another in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 10-6, while CGD entered at 0-14.
After a scoreless first inning, Webster City got on the board with a run in the 2nd to take a 1-0 lead. The lead would grow to 4-0 after the 3rd inning, before the Lynx put up 8 runs in the 4th to cap off a 12-0, 4-inning victory.
Delainey Bargfrede would throw a perfect game on Wednesday night, not allowing a baserunner in all 4 innings she pitched against the Cowgirls. Counterpart Tess Wibholm pitched 3.2 innings, allowing 12 runs (6 earned) on 6 hits and struck out 5.
Webster City softball returns to action on Friday, when they host Humboldt in North Central Conference action at 7:30 PM. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows softball returns to action on Thursday, when they host West Hancock in non-conference action at 7:30 Pm.
