The South Hamilton Hawks softball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they hosted the West Hancock Eagles in non-conference action at South Hamilton High School in Jewell. South Hamilton entered with a record of 10-12, while West Hancock entered at 1-13.
South Hamilton wasted no time in jumping all over the Eagles, putting up 4 runs in the 1st, 5 runs in the 2nd, before walking it off in the 3rd for 3 more runs and a 12-0, 3 inning victory.
Sophomore Claire Hewitt had a big day, going 1-for-1 with 2-run RBI triple and drawing a walk, while Makena Galetich went 1-for-2 with an RBI, a double and 2 runs scored. Jillian Hesse pitched all 3 innings, allowing no runs on 1 hit and striking out 3.
South Hamilton softball returns to action on Wednesday night, when they take on Nevada in Heart of Iowa Conference action at 7:30 PM.
