Webster City baseball shuts out St. Edmond, 11-0 in 6

The Webster City Lynx baseball team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the short jog west to take on the Gaels of Fort Dodge, St. Edmond in North Central Conference action at Harlan Rogers Sports Complex. Webster City entered at 9-8, while St. Edmond entered at 6-4.

Webster City’s offense was slow to start, but got a run across in the 2nd to take a 1-0 lead. It wasn’t until the 5th that the Lynx offense came to life, putting up 8 runs in the frame to take a 9-0 lead. Webster City put up 2 runs in the 6th and shut down the Gaels in the bottom of the frame to clinch an 11-0, 6 inning victory.

Josh Griep was 1-for-4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored, while Briar Klaver was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and 3 runs scored. Braylon Dyvig picked up the win, allowing no runs on 5 hits and striking out 5.

Webster City baseball returns to action on Tuesday, when they travel to Urbandale to take on (2A) #5 Des Moines Christian in non-conference action at 7:30 PM on 95.7 KQWC or online at kqradio.com.
