The Webster City Lynx baseball team returned to action on Friday night, as they hosted the Boone Toreadors in non-conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered Friday at 9-7, while Boone entered at 10-8.
Boone was able to scratch across a couple runs early, with 1 each in the 1st and 2nd to take a 2-0 lead. Webster City’s bats then sprung to life in the 3rd, plating 5 runs to take a 5-2 lead. Webster City would plate a run each in the 3rd and 4th, but the Toreadors were able to square up the Lynx bullpen, putting up 3 in the 4th, 4 in the 5th and 4 in the 6th as Boone closed out a 13-8 victory.
Trevyn Lyons would go 2-for-4 with a 2 RBI double, while Keegan Hisler went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI as well. Josh Griep was charged with the loss in relief, going 2.1 innings and allowing 8 runs (5 earned) on 4 hits and striking out 1.
