The Eagle Grove Eagles baseball team returned to action on Friday night, as they hosted the Broncos of Belmond-Klemme in Top of Iowa West action at Greenwood Park in Eagle Grove. Eagle Grove entered with a record of 8-8, while Belmond-Klemme entered at 1-12.
Jordan Miller’s squad wouldn’t waste time in building their lead, putting up 3 runs each in the 1st and 2nd, before putting up 4 runs in the 3rd to take a 10-0 advantage. Both teams would trade zeros in the 4th before the game ended in the 5th with a 10-0 Eagle Grove victory.
Eagles senior Jake Jeske homered for the 2nd game in a row, going 1-for-2 with a home run and 3 RBI. Freshman Trenton Robinson would go 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, as senior Nolan Krauss pitched all 5 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits and striking out 9.
Eagle Grove baseball returns to action on Monday, when they travel to Algona to take on Bishop Garrigan in Top of Iowa West action at Bishop Garrigan High School at 7:30 PM.
