The Eagle Grove Eagles baseball team returned to action on Thursday night, as they hosted the Gaels of Fort Dodge, St. Edmond in non-conference action at Greenwood Park in Eagle Grove. Eagle Grove entered at 7-8, while St. Edmond entered at 6-3.
Thursday night would belong to Eagle Grove in a big way, as the Eagles put up 10 runs in the 1st inning, followed by 8 runs in the 2nd to hold an 18-0 lead. Eagle Grove shut down St. Edmond in the top of the 3rd to cap the 18-0, 3 inning victory.
Jake Jeske and Nolan Krauss would both go deep in the win, as Jeske was 1-for-2 with a home run, 3 RBI and 2 walks, while Nolan Krauss was 1-for-1 with a home run, 3 RBI and 2 walks. Brett Ascherl was 2-for-2 with 2 RBI and 2 singles, while Jake Jeske pitched all 3 innings, allowing no runs on 7 hits and striking out 3.
Eagle Grove baseball returns to action on Friday night, when they host Belmond-Klemme in Top of Iowa West action at Greenwood Park at 7:30 PM.
