The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they made the trip up to Britt to take on the West Hancock Eagles in Top of Iowa West action at West Hancock High School. Eagle Grove entered at 7-3, while West Hancock entered at 1-9.
Unlike their first matchup, West Hancock took a lead of 2-1 in the first as Heather Engstler hit a 2-run homer to put the Eagles of red in the lead. Eagle Grove tied the game in 2nd, before taking the lead in the 3rd and blowing the game open in the 4th and 5th for a 12-2, 5-inning victory.
Eagle Grove stats were not available on Bound as of Thursday morning, Eagle Grove softball returns to action on Friday, when they host Belmond-Klemme at Greenwood Park in Eagle Grove.
