Eagle Grove baseball blows out West Hancock, 15-0

The Eagle Grove Eagles baseball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they made the trek up to Britt to take on the West Hancock Eagles in Top of Iowa West action at West Hancock High School. Eagle Grove entered at 6-8, while West Hancock entered at 1-8.

Eagle Grove wasted little time in jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the first, adding 2 runs in the 2nd, 1 in the 3rd, 4 runs in the 4th, and 3 runs in the 5th to end the game after 5 innings with a 15-0, 5-inning victory.

Trenton Robinson and Leelan Spencer would have exceptional days at the plate, as Robinson went 3-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI, while Spencer went 3-for-3 with a double and 3 RBI. Syrus Willard picked up the win, pitching all 5 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits and striking out 11.

Eagle Grove baseball returns to action on Thursday, when they host St. Edmond in non-conference action at Greenwood Park, beginning at 7:30 PM.
