The Webster City Lynx softball team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the jog south to take on the Boone Toreadors in non-conference action at Gary Creasman Field in Boone. Webster City entered with a record of 9-3, while Boone entered at 9-9.
Boone would jump ahead early thanks to Webster City errors and some timely hits off of Lynx pitcher Jakaela Cherry, as the Toreadors put up 3 runs in the 1st and 2 runs in the 2nd to lead 5-0. Webster City would answer with 2 runs of their own in the 3rd to cut the lead to 5-2, but Boone answered with 2 runs in the 4th and 5 in the 5th to clinch a 12-2, 5-inning victory.
Delainey Bargfrede would go 3-for-3 on the night with an RBI and 3 singles, while Addy Tesdahl went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles. Jakaela Cherry was charged with the loss, allowing 12 runs (8 earned) on 12 hits and striking out 6 batters.
Webster City softball returns to action on Wednesday, as they travel to Algona to take on the Bulldogs in NCC action at 7:30 PM.
